Garantiefonds GGTO staat er voor garant dat u het reeds betaalde deel van uw reissom terugkrijgt indien de touroperator failliet zou gaan. Dit kan zijn vóór uw vertrek maar ook tijdens uw verblijf op lokatie. Bovendien garandeert Garantiefonds GGTO tijdens uw verblijf uw terugreis indien de touroperator, als gevolg van een faillissement, hier niet meer voor kan zorgdragen. Door de touroperator wordt voor deze garantiestelling een vast bedrag van € 7,50 per reiziger in rekening gebracht aan de consument. Hiermee wordt het garantiefonds opgebouwd en onderhouden.
